Beer Lands 2022 organizer Dave Maclean is back on Brew Ha Ha with Harry Duke and Herlinda Heras, to talk about this year’s festival. Outside Lands will take place on August 5-7, 2022, and one of its many attractions is Beer Lands, a celebration of the Bay Area’s ever-evolving craft beer community. Dave was on Brew Ha Ha last year too, for the same reason.
The Outside Lands festival is back, and so is Beer Lands, as a part of it. After last year’s edition in October (which was foggier and chillier) this year it is back to the summertime.
Dave is one of the owners of Admiral Malting, which is one of the first new floor malting facilities in California since Prohibition, and maybe beyond. They supply a lot of the craft brewing industry.
Beer Lands is two big tented areas with refrigerated shipping containers pouring beer, located near the back of the polo field, at a crossroads among all the other attractions. Outside Lands wants to create a sense of place with the best of everything. For example, there is Wine Lands, Cocktail Magic featuring local mixologists, lots of food options and more.
Outside Lands is a music festival and this year’s biggest headliner is Green Day. The whole lineup is on the website. Beer Lands is part of Outside Lands, so ticket holders have free roam over all the lands. Many people will come more than once during the three days. The website has all the necessary info.
Next week, Herlinda’s friend Lindsey will be on Brew Ha Ha. She will talk about the Wine Country Distillery Festival which is coming soon, on August 13th, 2022. This is also an interesting event that features craft distilleries and other artisan vendors. Tickets will be going fast for that too.
